
January 2010: A/P/A Institute receives $10,000 through the generosity of a private donor and a matching gift from AMGEN to support the work of ASRIC -- the Applied Social Research Institute of Cambodia -- in its efforts to document and submit testimonials from Cambodians in the diaspora for the upcoming tribunals in the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia.
September 2009: A/P/A Institute friend and donor since May 2005, Theodore K. Cheng and Michelle Lee become Bronze level donors ($10,000+) through their continued and faithful support of the Institute's archive building efforts.
May 2009: A/P/A Institute receives renewal funding from the New York Metropolitan Library's Documenting Heritage Program to appoint one new Graduate Assistant to continue the survey work from the first year into a second and final year.
May 2008: In collaboration with NYU Tamiment Library, A/P/A Institute receives funding from the New York Metropolitan Library's Documenting Heritage Program to appoint two Graduate Assistants in the NYU Archives and Public History Program to survey the historical records of the A/PA community in New York.
June 2007: "Yellow Peril: Collecting Xenophobia," a visual essay from the Yoshio Kishi / Irene Yah Ling Sun Collection, written by A/P/A Institute's first Graduate Assistant in A/PA Archives, is published in celebration of the collection acquisition and whose proceeds will go towards funding the Graduate Assistantship in A/PA Archives.
May 2007: Through individual, family and foundation donations, A/P/A Institute completes the fundraising to acquire the Yoshio Kishi / Irene Yah Ling Sun Collection of over 10,000 items of Asian Americana. This collection is in the final stages of being transferred to and processed at the Fales Library at NYU.
March 2007: The Friends & Family of Dylan Yeats donates a gift of $3,225 to help acquire the Kishi/Sun Collection for archival preservation and open access at Fales Library.
December 2006: A/P/A Institute holds its first Holiday Party / Silent Auction and raises over $2,000 towards funding the Graduate Assistantship in A/PA Archives.
June 2006: The Chen/Tchen Family donates a gift of $3,350 in memory of their parents Hoshien & Lin-Sie Chao Tchen to help acquire the Kishi/Sun Collection for archival preservation and open access at Fales Library.
December 2005: The Family of Dr. Wei Yu Chen makes a donation of $125,000 in his memory to help acquire the Kishi/Sun Collection for archival preservation and open access at Fales Library.
October 2005: The Ford Foundation grants $50,000 towards acquiring the Kishi/Sun Collection for archival preservation and open access at Fales Library.
